XXI. Mergo's Loft

This area is the place where you shall battle one of the final bosses in the game. It is also the last map you will have to explore and cover.

To get to this final area, take the exit available after defeating micolash, Host of the Nightmare, which also comes after a lantern. You will be engaging with some Dog-Crows in the area too. There will also be a corpse that will give you a Blood Stone Chunk. In the same area, you will find a small elevator. Hop on the elevator and as the lift is halfway down, jump right into a small doorway. Jumping into this doorway involves luck and a real good timing. So if you do miss it, you may just teleport back to a nearby lantern and try again. Once you’ve made it in, open up a chest nearby which will grant you an Inflicted Organ.

Then you will stumble upon a bridgeway where a bunch of Frenzy-Inducing Beasts are lurking around. Before this, you may choose to spend your accumulated Insight so as to make the damage on you less. To move forward you may either try to quietly walk past the Frenzy Beasts or you may sneak up behind them and kill them as fast as you can. What is important is that the beast does not lay its eyers on you or else the Frenzy it causes may kill you instantly. Exploring this bridge will grant you a Kin Coldblood from a nearby corpse.

As soon as you are able to cross the bridge, you may find a room filled with Human-Headed Spiders. You may kill them or avoid them to get to the exit. Once you get out of the room, you will find a lever. Pull it and a cutscene showing The Mother Brain falling into a pit shall commence.

After this, jump down to the hole nearby and defeat more Spiders and Frenzy-Inducing Beasts on the other side. Cross the beam and open the chest to get a Choir Bell. After this, cross the beam once again and exit through the door where you will see another bridgeway—this time it will be filled with corpses. Some of the items you may get from the cadavers are four Great One’s Wisdom, Arcane Damp Blood Gem, Damp Bloodtinge Gem, and Madman’s Knowledge.

If you go straight ahead you will find a door which you shall use the Iron Key you got after defeating micolash. Opening this door will reveal a shortcut back to the arena where you fought Micolash. After this, back up to the place where The Mother Brain was dropped and into the circular chamber where you will find a corpse holding a Blood Rock. Find a crack in the wall and go through and you will find yourself on the bridge you passed earlier.

After this, go back to the lantern and climb the stairs and turn left. You will now have to battle a few Shadows of Yharnam which you battled previously in the Forbidden Woods. Just the same, time your attacks and make use of your visceral attacks too. Once you’ve defeated them, climb the stairs. On the side of this staircase is a small path where you may find Blood Stone Chunk. At the top of the stairs, you will find a Giant Pig. After killing this pig, look out for the small opening at the edge of the wall. Drop down and continue on the path you will find.

Here you will find a Summoner over a balcony. Sneak up on the Summoner to eliminate her. Afterward, pick up some Blood Vials and some Blood Stone Chunk. After defeating the Summoner, continue on and battle the rest of the Shadows in the area. At the same time, defeat the Giant Pig that is lurking around for more items like the Nourishing Damp Blood Gem and two Kin Coldblood.

After the battle, walk down the path and climb the stairs where you will find a woman in white. If you move past the glowing woman in white you will find an elevator and a chest which will give you iosefka’s Blood Vial. After this, go inside the elevator the woman is pointing at and this will lead you to an small arena where a baby carriage sits in the middle.
