The Forsaken Cainhurst Castle is another secret area players may opt to travel to and explore. To get to the castle, players will first have to get the Cainhurst Summons found in iosefka’s Clinic, which can be accessed through a tunnel by a poisoned lake at the Forbidden Woods. Once you have the summons, you will have to interact with a tombstone, a cut scene will commence which shows a carriage appearing which will bring you to Cainhurst Castle.

Note: At this stage make sure that you have defeated the Witches in Hemwick Lane in order for the cut scene to start. Also, attacking the carriage will make you lose a ride to Cainhurst. The carriage will re-emerge in the scene after you travel to the hunter’s Dream and travel back to Hemwick.

Upon arriving at Cainhurst, enter the large castle gate and climb the stairs where you will find an alley with statues on the side. On the side of the building there will be a corpse which will give you Frenzied BloodStone. Afterward, proceed to the path earlier and defeat the Spider Monster which will give you Bloodtinge Coldblood.

Climb the stairs and enter the building and where a lobby filled with candles is located. There will be some really fast Ghostly Nuns who will attack you so be on your guard. Some enemies here are non aggressive Upon killing some of the enemies, you will get to pick up some Madan'S Knowledgee from them. Climb the stairs at the end of the room and there you will find Noble Dews from a chest. On the side of the room, climb the stairs and defeat the Bat creature.

Enter the small entrance on the side of the tower where you will find a hallway. Move on and exit the hallway which will lead you to a courtyard. Open the chest and get Vileblood Register. Exit to the left and an elevator will bring you to the entrance in the beginning.

Go back to the library and climb the stairs at the end of the room. Watch out for the man shooting blowdarts since getting hit by these darts will mark you as a target of the other Ghostly Nuns who will move faster after those darts land on you.

On the side you may find a broken window. Crawl out through it and you will a corpse with Quicksilver Bullets. Jump to the bottom of the ledge where you will be attacked by more Bat Monsters.

Once you enter the building again, it will bring you back to the library where a lever waits and moves the bookshelf which will reveal a way to reach or climb the ladder. At the end of the room there will be a chest that contains a Warm Blood Gemstone.

You will also find an exit with a spiral staircase that will lead you to a roof where more Bat Monsters await, so be careful. After defeating the monster, you will find a corpse there which will give you Knight's Wig.

Drop on the side of the roof and bring yourself to another rooftop. Drop another level until you reach a bridgeway where a corpse will give Kin Coldblood. There will be a ladder leading to a tower and another rooftop where you may get Bold hunter's Mark from a corpse.

There will also be a pathway going up to a stairs. Climb it and there you will find a man seated on a throne. This is where you will battle Martyr Logarius, the guardian of the area who moves real fast. Logarius also casts a spell that makes his attacks longer and makes himself move faster.

Tip: you may attack him from the side but not from behind since he casts something that will drain your HP more than half. Lure him to swing his scythe in front of you and once he hits the floor, take a side step and attack him from the side.

Upon defeating Logarius, you will be rewarded with the Crown of Illusions. After the heated battle, activate the lantern.

Note: Make sure to activate this lantern first since the lantern is the only way to travel to Cainhurst.

Equipping the crown will set off a cut scene which will reveal a hidden castle. Enter the building by climbing the stairs that will lead you to a throne room filled with statues where you will find Annalise, Queen of the Vilebloods and sworn enemy of the Healing Church, seated on her throne.

Upon entering the throne room, Annalise will be commanding you to bend the knee. Before approaching her, you may find an Unopened Summons on top of a table. And when you get to speak to Annalise, you will be given an option to join Annalise and the Vilebloods or not. If you do join her faction, and swear to be an enemy of the church, Annalise will grant you a Katana, Corruption, Cainhurst Badge, and the gesture “Respect”.
