Windmills in Dying Light 2 Stay Human act the same as Nightrunner's Hideouts in that they provide you a safe zone that allows you to rest and stash weapons and items. Activating Windmills will also add more UV light sources across Villedor as well as vendors where you can buy and sell goods.
There are 17 Windmills in total in Dying Light 2 Stay Human and in order to activate them you need to solve small parkour puzzles as you climb to the top to reset breakers and fuses that are inside the electrical box that is there. Before you attempt to activate a Windmill need to highlight it on the overworld map and look for the lightning icon in the upper portion of their card what appears on the left side of the screen. The color of the icon indicates the amount of stamina you will need to reach the top.
White Icons
You have enough stamina to unlock the Windmill.
Red Icons
You do not have enough stamina to unlock the Windmill.
Green Icons
You have unlocked the Windmill already.
Highlighting a borough will allow you to see a territory's rank. The numbers in the bottom left corner indicate the minimum and maximum rank of the enemies you will encounter at the location. A territory's rank can also be viewed by highlighting it on the overworld map and looking in the top left corner.
