Although Devil May Cry 5 does not have any form of straight-up multiplayer it does have a feature called Link Missions which enables you to connect with other players.
When you are at the mission select screen you will notice a little wireless symbol on the image of some of the missions and if you select one it will say 'Link Mission' in the bottom right corner of the screen. So what are Link Missions? Basically these are missions that connect you with other players who are playing through different parts of the game that take place at the same time.
Although you will not be able to interact with these players you will be able to see them fighting in other areas at certain points. Every so often missions will appear on the left side of the screen that says 'Starring' and a name below it. If it says 'The DMC Boys' it indicates you haven't linked with another player but if you have linked with another player their name will be displayed there.
Once the Link Mission has been completed you will be given the opportunity to rate players as 'Stylish' and they can do likewise for you. If you rate enough players you will be rewarded with a Gold Orb and if you are rated by another player you will recieve another Gold Orb.
To begin a Link Mission you must be online and have the option to connect with other players enabled. When these requirement have been met go to the 'Options' menu at the 'Main' menu and select 'Network'. Not every mission is a Link Mission but if there are any available they will automatically connect to the network at the start of the mission and match you with other players.
