What are Strongholds

Strongholds in Anthem are the equivalent to what raids are in other MMORPGs. Your team basically enters dungeons full of enemies to kill and multiple objectives to complete before finally culminating in a face off against one of the major bosses. There are different levels you can tackle these Stronghold missions, the higher the difficulty you attempt the better the loot you will be awarded when you complete them, this potentially means better loadouts for your Javelins. Difficulties range from regular difficulty all the way up to Grandmaster Level 3.

What are the Objectives

There are three Stronghold missions in Anthem, these are The Temple of Scar, Tyrant Mine, and The Heart of Rage. They are each linear with objectives and area exploration and they can be repeated an unlimited number of times to grind loots. Completing Stronghold missions in Anthem is one of the best ways to farm loot as there are treasure chests that contain a decent amount of it and you will be awarded a good number of items upon defeating the Boss a the end.

How do you Unlock Stronghold Missions

The Stronghold missions become unlocked when you either complete the main story line or reach a specific level.

Unlocked at Level 7

• The Heart of RageThe Heart of Rage:

Complete the 'Return to the Heart of Rage' critical mission.

• The Temple of ScarThe Temple of Scar:

Complete the 'Return to the Heart of Rage' critical mission.

Stronghold Mission Tips

• Make sure that there’s one of each Javelin type in the Stronghold mission group so you have access to each suits ability.

• Speed through objectives to get to treasure chests rather than farming enemies when looting for rare weapons.

• Make sure a member of your team is covering you when you are holding items as your mobility will be severely compromised.

• Try to avoid fire from enemies so you keep you shields and health up.

• To help your survival chances when battling the boss at the end of a Stronghold mission do not use any techniques that immobilise you and avoid getting too close to them as this is essentially fatal.

• Work together as a team if someone goes down by clearing enemies around them so one of your squad can attempt to revive the downed player.

• If the whole team goes down you will be sent back to the previous checkpoint and will have to start that objective once again.

• Once you successfully complete a Stronghold mission you will be awarded a large amount of XP compared to normal missions, you will also receive Alliance bonuses and a huge amount of loot. Take what you want and salvage the rest for crafting items.
