Devil Trigger is an overcharged state the demons and demonic hybrids of Devil May Cry 5 can enter to unleash the full extent of their power. Knowing how to recharge your Devil Trigger so you enter this fury mode is important as doing so will not only increase your attack power and movement speed but also simultaneously restore vitality to your character.
Devil Trigger can be used at various points during the game, it is basically gained by attacking enemies and taking damage. You will find that some of the characters have their own unique way to recharge their respective Devil Trigger guages. An example of this is V who recharges his guage by reading his book. When a character is recharging their Devil Trigger the gauge for this ability will steadily increase. Remember though that when a character replenishes their Devil Trigger they will become more vulnerable to an attack as their movement speed will decrease. It is therefore recommended that you recharge your characters Devil Trigger when they are in no immediate danger from enemies.
Dante has two Devil Triggers, he has a regular one which he can charge by inflicting or taking damage or by collecting white orbs and a second more powerful Sin Devil Trigger which is charged by transferring everything from his regular Devil Trigger guage into his Sin guage. Once the Sin guage is full Dante will enter Sin mode where he will be able to use Sin Stinger and The Luce abilities. The Sin Stinger enables Dante to charge into the enemy with a whirlwind of swords and The Luce is a powerful long range attack.
To recharge Dante' Sin Devil mode you need to hold down LB (L1), this will transfer everything from Dante's regulare Devil Trigger into his Sin gauge. Once the Sin guage is full you need to again hold down LB (L1) until the guage fills up yellow and then release it. At this point Dante will enter Sin mode.
In order to get Nero's Devil Trigger, you will have to beat Devil May Cry 5 at least once. Nero's Devil Trigger lets him grab an enemy with RT (R2) and use a powerful throw on them. Having to complete the game with Nero not having a Devil Trigger is not a problem as he can rely on his Devil Breakers.
