Just like the Dragon Ball Series, a player can actually find (earn) the Dragon Balls during each and every match in Dragon Ball FighterZ. After obtaining all seven Dragon Balls during a battle, a player can then summon Shenron to grant them one of several wishes in hopes of turning the tide of the match. There are two ways to obtain the Dragon Balls, each having their given pros and cons. However, each method applies to both fighters on the given field of play, as both will accumulate them for the shared pool for the overall match and not specifically for their given teams.
The first way is relatively easy, as you will obtain a Dragon Ball each time you perform a light auto-attack combo. Doing so will easily award you one of the seven Dragon Balls; however, the Dragon Ball you receive will be at random, which means you never know which one you will get. Since both characters can do these types of attacks over and over again, the Dragon Balls can quickly be earned.
The second way of earning the Dragon Balls is much more complex, but it is far more specific than the first. With this method, you will earn a Dragon Ball depending on how many light attack combo hits you can nail in a row. If you Hit 10-19 combo hits, you will receive the One-Star Dragon Ball. If you nail 20-29 combo hits, you will receive the Two-Star Dragon Ball. If you complete 30-39 combo hits, you will receive the Three-Star Dragon Ball. If you amass 40-49 combo hits, you will receive the Four-Star Dragon Ball. If you land 50-59 combo hits, you will receive the Five-Star Dragon Ball. If you hammer 60-69 combo hits, you will receive the Six-Star Dragon Ball. And if you total 70 or more combo hits, you will receive the Seven-Star Dragon Ball.
